- Bring in a development sketch of your initial concept
- Decide upon medium – graphite, charcoal, conte work best
- Write one paragraph on why you believe this is a social issue, why you feel compassionate about it and what you are trying to say
- You should be educating your audience, not glorifying the subject matter
- Consider composition and creative challenge
Week 2-3
- Bring in development of your final drawing – you must bring in your project or a photo of your progress in order to receive your points for this week
- Carefully consider and develop composition, shading and value to make your piece powerful

- This should be something that is important to you
- Consider a memory (good or bad) that you can connect visuals with
- No more than 300 words
- This can be handwritten, as long as it is legible, or typed
- Decide upon mediums that you will use
Week 2
- Adhere some or all of your story to a canvas
- Some examples include: cutting up original, writing on to canvas or paper, gesso and water over top to fade back
- Determine what visuals you will be putting over top of the text, with consideration to composition
Week 3
- At this point you should have begun several visuals to create an interesting and unique composition

Surreal Mixed Media

You will be graded mostly on your creativity and voice for this project. Other factors that will be considered are composition, proportions (if applicable), use of medium and overall effort throughout the month of work. (100 points)

Develop several thumbnails of interior spaces that you would like to develop and decide upon materials you will be using to complete this project

Develop several thumbnails of interior spaces that you would like to develop and decide upon materials you will be using to complete this project
- Consider creative challenge
- Think outside of the norm (favorite space, closet, cabinet, bathtub, fridge, under the hood of your car)
